If you need to seal and protect your outdoor concrete against:

  • Ingress of water
  • Chloride
  • Salts
  • Mold and mildew
  • Freeze-thaw attack…

You should look at a penetrating sealer.

Penetrating Sealers

Something like our CoverSeal Pen50 has excellent water  and salt resistance. It repels water, and it has anti-microbial additive to prevent mold and mildew.  Pen50 has the advantage of not changing the appearance of the concrete or altering its slip-resistance. This product dries clear and can be used on floor and walls to prevent damage like concrete pitting and spalling due to freeze thaw and deicing salts. Use this protective sealant to minimize costly repairs by preventing the damage in the first place.

If, in addition to waterproofing, you need oil and stain resistance, then our CoverSeal Pen55 would be an excellent choice.  Pen 55 is not only highly water-repellent it is also highly resistant to stains and oil.  Pen55 is very effective sealant for a concrete deck or cement driveway.

We also make a Reactive Penetrating sealer called CoverSeal DS160.  Reactive sealers penetrate deeper into the surface, react with the concrete and block efflorescence, rising moisture, and mineral deposits.  Use CoverSeal DS160 to prevent or hold back efflorescence (white powdery deposits) on your concrete , stone, terrazzo, brick or block  floor or wall surfaces.
